Madras Esplanade Round Table 30, a member of Round Table India, an organization of non-political and non-sectarian young men between the age group of 18-40 Years. Round Table India's aim is to promote service, fellowship and goodwill in National and International affairs.

FACTS
· Over 50 million Indian children in the age group 6 - 14 are    out of school
· Over 68% of all boys & 73% of all girls drop out of school    before class 10
· Over 34% of India's adult population does not know how to    read or write
· Almost a third of the entire non-literate adult population    in the world lives in India

OUR EFFORT
· Create infrastructure for educating underprivileged    Children

OUR APPROACH
· Supplement existing initiatives working on Universalizing    Primary Education (UPE) through partnerships with the    Governments, NGOs and Corporates

· 3700 class rooms in 1200 Schools built across the Country.
· Over 800,000 children benefited
· Rs. 80 crores spent
· Partnerships with Donors, NGO's and State Government
· Increased Enrollment and Retention
· Ownership by the Community

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Former President of India visited Chennai to inaugurate 55 classroom blocks that were constructed by Round Table India. Some of the other dignitaries who stand by Round Table India in their long term efforts include Singer Ehsaan Noorani, Actors Mr. Madhavan, Mr. Ajay Devagan, Ms. Kajol and many others.
